Mansour A. Safai
Mansour A. Safai Memorial Fellowship Fund
Dear Friends and Family,
Last December Third – on Mansour’s Birthday – Mammad and I established an endowed fellowship fund in Mansour’s memory in the field of Computer Science at Stanford University. As you can imagine, this is a very personal project that is very dear to us. Mansour had so many dreams and visions for the future in his field, but time left them unfulfilled...
We hope you will help us to pass on Mansour’s dreams to future generations. Stanford’s Computer Science Department is one of the leading computer science departments in the world. There is no need to introduce you to its leading position in the world and the numerous Silicon Valley leaders who are affiliated with this department. Many Stanford students worked with Mansour as interns during their summer breaks. He was hopeful for the future – he loved mentoring students and sharing their aspirations.
Mansour loved the pace, the drive and the entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley. This was the reason he moved from Lausanne, Switzerland to Palo Alto, California: to bring his ideas and his vision to the Valley. He believed that Silicon Valley must strive to maintain its pre-eminent position in the world and that we must facilitate young minds to come here to continue the legacy of the Valley.
We know that you get asked to support many causes and charities. We hope this will be a different experience. We also hope that you will help us in this effort, to remember Mansour, his gentle way in his friendships, his grace, his immense talent as an entrepreneur and his unwavering drive to achieve the impossible.
With love,
Massy and Mammad Safai
